On-Site Membrane Generated Nitrogen Systems


On site generated Membrane Nitrogen Gas has been used to support Well Service applications around the world; for example:

The reliable ‘turn key’ operation, available to operate anywhere, any time, along with its cost efficiencies, makes membrane nitrogen gas a serious option in many projects.

Method

Diesel driven air compression units provide a supply of compressed air to the Nitrogen Production Unit (NPU). The air is passed through the NPU’s air treatment system, prior to being fed into the special polymer fibre packed membrane modules.

At this stage, oxygen and water are separated from the air, along with other trace gases. The remaining nitrogen gas is analyzed by the NPU. Any ‘off spec’ gas is automatically vented to atmosphere.

The client will determine the nitrogen gas purity required to the operation, and this will be supplied direct at lower pressure to the well (200- 350psi), or will be fed to booster gas compressors, to provide up 5,000psi.
